Heritage Outreach Foundation pays courtesy visit to the Peace in Christ Community (PCC)

On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, as part of the birthday celebrations of the Bono East Regional Manager for GIFEC and the Founder of Heritage Outreach Foundation, Mr Arnold Johnson a tenacious young philanthropist and community builder paid a courtesy visit to the Peace in Christ Community (PCC) registered under the Peace in Christ Foundation.

Per the 2021 annual theme of Heritage Outreach Foundation which reads “Hold a Hand Today”, HOF, together with self committed partners of ‘Heritage Outreach Foundation’ saw the need to visit our friends at PCC – a community of neglected children most of which are physically or mentally challenged and served them with a nice treat for their evening meal.

The community which was established in the early 2000s to cater for these challenged and neglected individuals – about 90 of them currently, receives no funds or any form of support from the government since it was built and thus the welfare and well-being of these challenged people as well as their caretakers has solely been dependent on charitable donations of individuals and associations such as Heritage Outreach Foundation.

During the visit John Justice ABBAN, a student of KNUST and Founder of J-Jay World – an initiative aimed at inspiring and mentoring young minds to attain excellence in academia, innovation and leadership was spotted in an engagement with some of the challenged individuals said “… though they are challenged but they’re an amazing people and they deserve all the help we can and will give”. From his conversation we identified Ella, a 15year old girl at PCC who dreams of becoming a radio presenter. She has had no limbs since birth and has to be carried around by her caretaker nonetheless, she’s committed to giving her dreams a shot.
Stephen who prefers to be called ‘Steve’ a 17year old boy cannot walk without the assistance of crutches shared with John Justice that he would like to be an electronic and electrics engineer. Some of his colleagues, John, Ella and Gabriel attested to the fact that Steve makes and fixes Bluetooth speakers, radio sets and other electrical gadgets.

This community is a home for these challenged and neglected people where some even aspire to come out into the broader society to contribute their quota to our systems.
PCC needs support, PCC needs you.
Pay a visit to PCC today and support the community in whichever capacity you can.
